  ABOUT

  BIO STATEMENT

Mic Muhlbauer was born. This occurred in Niagara Falls, NY. She was the second child of three. She became an imported Texan at the age of 8. It didn’t kill her but made her stronger. Since the age of 12, she has always wanted to be an artist. She has traveled to all the states except 5. She has lived in 6 of them. She attended 12 different schools including college. She has visited 14 countries but always came back to the U.S. She has lived in 25 different houses but never an apartment. Her life has been touched by 6 dogs and 2 cats, but not all at one time. She has owned 3 Chevrolets, one Ford and three Toyotas. She has had countless jobs but has always come back to teaching people how to make art. She keeps the world distanced from her private life. She has the best friends on the planet. Currently residing in the New Mexico high plains desert she is thinking of becoming a wooden boat builder. She absolutely loves a good laugh.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Technique and method are as important as content in my work. My vehicle is realism, which seems to offer the clearly articulated language of imagery I need for expressing my thoughts. There is a search for order and meaning in my work, a longing for a sense of myth, magic, mystery and especially humor.
